MATTS WEEKEND 21-23 JAN 2022

When: 21 – 23 Jan 2022.
Where: Kinnegar / Palace Barracks.

Who: 157 Div Sp Coy 25 personnel in total training.

What: MATT training.
• This weekend 157 Div Sp Coy carried out MATTs training
working between Kinnegar Army Barracks (KLB) and Palace
Barracks (PB). On Friday night we conducted WHT’s and Kit
issue for everyone that was attending the weekend.
Saturday was an early start to collect ammunition from 1
Ranger Regiment and weapons from KLB before transport
to PB where the MATTs where being carried out.

• We had some nice weather on Saturday and as we had to
be on the Ranges most of the day it always makes for better
shooting if the weather is good. We were fortunate to have
some assistance from other units, allowing us to conduct all
the MATT training we had planned for. 253 Med Reg
supplied us with a BCD/BLS Instructor, 1 RANGERs Supplied
us with a CBRN Instructor, WO1 Milne from 153 Coy as
Range staff and our very own ex 157 CSM Mr Critchley was
our PTI.
• On the Saturday we carried out our Shoot, BCD / BLS, and
CBRN MATTs along with WHT being carried out in the
background for anyone that could not make it in on the
Friday night. On the morning Sunday we started with
MATT6 being delivered by OC 157 Maj Cuthbert-Imrie. All
weapon were cleaned before lunch allowing the swift
transition into the AFT.

• A good weekend was had by all, everyone that attended
was able to achieve the MATTs required for CoE.
