Me’ir Banay
Me’ir Banay (born July 5th 1961) is an Israeli singer-songwriter and actor.
Banay was born and raised in Be’er Sheva to the parents Simcha and Yitzhak
Banay, and he’s the first to become famous of the second generation of the
famous Banay family. Banay has played (instruments) and written songs
since he was 17. Banay, who had a ‘high profile’ (an army phrase meaning
good physical health), found himself serving as a tank crewman, and his
dreams as an artist were postponed until after his discharge from the army.
At the end of his army service Banay received his first exposure, on a TV
show. In the middle of 1982 Banay released his first, self-financed, single.
Banay tried to realize another love of his, cinema, and participated in several
movies. In 1987 came his big break, when Banay’s second album, “Rain”
was released. In 1992 Banay’s album “And Between Them” was released. In
2002 a double collection album of Banay’s was released, called “How Much
Love”. In 2007 Banay released the album “Hear my Voice”, which included
songs which were written by Jewish poets of different times. In 2011 a
double concert album of Banay’s was released, called “Like a Calm Lake”.
