                           Nurit Hirsh

Nurit Hirsh (born in 1942) is a prominent Israeli musician and composer in
the Hebrew singing. Nurit Hirsh is a graduate of "The Jerusalem Academy of
Music and Dance" (previously the "Rubin Academy of Music"), and she also
studied in the University of California. The first song she composed was
"The Lilach Flower", to the words of Uri Assaf, which became famous
performed by the singer Chava Albershtein.
Nurit Hirsh worked a lot with the poets Ehud Manor, Yoram Taharlev,
Neomi Shemer and others.
Additionally, Hirsh composed songs for Israeli films, such as "A Ballad for a
Policeman", the theme song for the movie "Policeman Azulay" by Efrain
Kishon, which was performed by Oshik Levy. Nurit Hirsh performs a lot
with her songs at different places, when she sings with the audience and
accompanies the events with piano playing. She holds the encounters with
her songs serenely and in good atmosphere, because Nurit Hirsh isn't just a
composer, she's also a stage persona, optimistic and full of happiness and a
girl's innocence.
Nurit Hirsh's songs that appear in this book: 'Don't Ask if I Love'.
