Shlomo Artzi
Shlomo Artzi (born November 26th 1949) is an Israeli singer, composer and
songwriter.
Artzi was first discovered as a lead singer in the Navy band and became a star
in the “Folk Festival” in 1970, when Artzi had a clear voice and a young and
handsome look. Since then, Shlomo Artzi’s career has seen ups and downs,
and ups again. Artzi produces his records independently along with the
musical producer Louie Lahav. A big part of Artzi's songs deal with daily
issues in his life and of course with love.
Artzi is the winner of the ACUM prize for life's work for 2009. In addition to
his musical activity, Artzi has been broadcasting a radio show since 1980
until today.
Artzi was born in Aloney Aba. As an elementary school student he actually
stood out as an actor, but at age of 12 he started playing the guitar and sang at
friends’ parties. Artzi was injured during his army service and after a year
and a half, following a decrease in his ‘profile’ (physical fitness in army
terms) he joined the Navy band.
Shlomo Artzi's songs that appear in this book: ‘Dance’, ‘She Doesn't Know
What I am Going Through’.
