                        Shlomo Gronich

Shlomo Gronich (born January 20th 1949) is an Israeli musician.
Shlomo Gronich was born in the city of Hedera. His father was a music
teacher, a Clarinet player and the first conductor of the IDF orchestra.
Gronich began studying music when he was six years old, he began learning
to play the piano. At the age of seven he already began to perform and
became a young talent in Tel Aviv. Between 1968 and 1970 he studied at the
music academy in Tel Aviv. In 1970 he was drafted to the IDF. During this
period he met Matti Caspi, who took him on as a pianist in his productions.
Shlomo is a singer, composer, poet and a very colorful and special performer.

For 40 years he and Matti Caspi performed in a show named “Behind the
Sounds” – a show that became a hit and demonstrated their huge talents.

In 1991 he founded the "Shva" choir, which is composed of Ethiopian youth
and recorded with them an album that received great success. Additionally,
he went with them on a tour that continues until today.
