People are busy with kids, making a living and a home. They talk a lot
about other things, but they don‟t sit comfortably, gently and openly
telling each other about themselves. Due to these things, the spouse can‟t
really understand what‟s happening inside the other person, how he ended
up being what he is today. When such openness exists, a lot of criticism
the spouse has and a lot of reservations on their behavior are diminished.
When a couple works in the workshop and they later tell about the
experience, I ask: “tell me, didn‟t you know this?” and the answer is
always this: “I did know. I know her mother and father, but I didn‟t really
understand what it means”. Openness leads to compassion and
acceptance”.
