Don‟t be a “Second Rate” Couple
Yonatan Segal has crossed continents, reached
savage tribes on remote islands and discovered
fading Jewish communities in Europe, until
deciding to return to Israel and find the answers in
their true origin * After marrying Nava, a secular
psychology student, the two became religious, and
began experiencing the routine difficulties of life
as a couple * The two went through a couples‟
workshop, employing the „Imago‟ technique, and decided to host
relationship-reinforcing workshops themselves, in the spirit of Jewish and
Hasidic thought. “Crises happen to everyone” says Segal, “but don‟t give
up on love”.

The most commonly mentioned words when talking to Yonatan Segal, a
long-bearded Jew with a black Kippah, were love and relationship. These
pure words are sometimes placed at the wrong side of consciousness, due
to movies and books which have appropriated them, taking them to
indecent regions. Yonatan and his wife, Nava, mean these terms in their
blessed origin. In the couples‟ workshops they give, they are aided by the
Bible, Gemara and Hasidic scripts to reflow the blood back into the veins
of relationships, and to return to people “what they deserve”, as Segal
says, love.
Yonatan didn‟t start out his life as an observant person, but at a certain
place along the way he realized that the many trips and experiences he
had undertaken were not the essence, that the road to happiness is in the
internal dimension, the Jewish one. Today, Segal tries to connect the
people who attend his workshops and courses to their inner dimension, to
their true desires and secret ambitions, while outlining a path for the
couple to fulfill these ambitions together.
