The Escape from the Prison

In February 1948 twelve prisoners escaped from the prison. They
built a tunnel and escaped via the sewer. There were several stages in
the escape:

1. A Jewish municipal worker gave the prisoners a map of the
sewer.

2. The prisoners built a tunnel from the room to the sewer
3. The Jewish municipal worker clogged the sewer and brought

Jewish workmen to work there.
4. The Jewish workmen gave the prisoners clothes. The prisoners

entered the sewer and went out with clothes of the workmen.
It is important to know where the prisoners who escaped from the
prison went: Home? To family? To girlfriends?
Not at all!
In Israel there was a hard war. The prisoners escaped in order to help
in the war, and they did not take one day of vacation.
