On the Winners' Platform
Noa's victory was double. She triumphed over her rivals in
karate competitions and also over her complex physical
limitations, which she struggles with from the day of her birth.
Her trainer and father, Roni Kluger, says: "It was clear to me
that more than all the medicine and science, the involvement in
martial arts would be for Noa the ultimate solution."
At the age of eight, she stood for the first time on the winners'
platform. The event was the National Karate Competition and
Noa Kluger came in second place. Her victory was double. Noa
triumphed over her rivals in the competition and also over her
physical limitations, which she struggles with from the day of
her birth.
Kluger was born suffering from a rare assortment of medical
problem, the connection between them unclear. She is limited in
hearing and sight on her left side and also suffers from a heart
defect, problems in her blood vessels, and bad asthma. When
she entered first grade, it became clear that she was learning
disabled.
Today she is eighteen, living and functioning like any other girl
her age. But Kluger always aspired to more than that, and she
has succeeded. She has a black belt in karate, she teaches
martial arts, and she has even won three times in international
championships. These days she is finishing twelfth grade
successfully, and she also plays guitar and draws.
Her father, Roni, a master of karate, knew from the day that his
daughter's medical problems were discovered what the road to
rehabilitation would be: "It was clear to me that more than all
the medicine and science, the involvement in martial arts would
be for her the ultimate solution."
