In a year in which so many activities were placed indefinitely on hold, a highlight of Semester 2 was the staging
of the annual Whole School Concert, which drew together all students from the Springwood and Wentworth
Falls campuses, and from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, for a celebration of the Musical Life (Vita Musicale) of the
School. A variety of repertoire was presented and the standard of the performances was exceptional.

This concert exemplified our staff and students’ ‘can do’ attitude as, in spite of the many challenges of maintaining
rehearsals. These took place, firstly via Zoom and in isolation from one another during the lockdown period.
When School resumed, the ensembles were divided into different groups in separate rehearsal spaces to comply
with recommended social distancing measures. Nonetheless, this Concert maintained the quality performances
we have come to expect from our students each year. Stretching over two hours, the concert, which was
recorded for families to view at home, featured performances by all our musical groups: Stage Band, Concert
Band, Rock Bank, Handbell Ensemble, three Choirs, Chamber Ensemble and Orchestra. With the Junior
School’s production of Aladdin nearing its opening night performance, we were also treated to a medley of songs
from the show by a combined choir of all Junior School students from both campuses.
All students who performed are to be commended on their wonderful efforts and commitment to the ‘Musical
Life’ of the School. With so few opportunities to actually play together this year, our musicians and choristers
were dedicated to giving their all for this concert and they should be very proud of the high standard achieved.
