Chapter 12

                                               Emergency Procedures
Freedom Plaza management produces an “Emergency Preparation

Booklet.” The latest revision is dated 6/5/19. This booklet contains
complete information for residents concerning emergency proce-
dures. Please make sure you have a copy. What follows is some of the
most important information from the handbook. For more detailed
information see the Freedom Plaza Emergency Preparation Booklet

                   2019.

The construction of Freedom Plaza is of very high quality, consisting
of steel and concrete. Freedom Plaza is rated a number two (2) con-

struction, which means we can take sustained winds of ninety (90)
miles per hour to one hundred twenty (120) miles per hour. Free-
dom Plaza’s elevation is 37 feet above sea level, which places us out-
                   side coastal evacuation zones.

Additionally, the nature of construction provides for fire and smoke
walls between all residences. The buildings have complete sprinkler
coverage and smoke detection monitored 24/7. In the Plaza, each
apartment has an emergency light in the entry way.

The priority of managers and associates is your safety and comfort.
Residents must also take an active role in planning for their safety
and comfort in the event of an emergency or when a hurricane dis-
rupts our services. Now is the time to prepare for a hurricane. A ma-

jor storm could result in the loss of power, water, and other services
to our community for an extended time. Residents are responsible
for being prepared and stocking up on essential items.

Make sure you stop by the Front Desk (or call 813-633-1992) when
you are leaving to inform them of your destination and return date.

During a hurricane, stay calm, and stay inside and away from win-
dows. DO NOT use electrical appliances. Don't be fooled by a brief
calm period or lull in the winds. The center or "eye" of the hurricane
may be passing over, and as it leaves our area, winds will increase
