ECLIPSE WITHIN
The will to act is gone,
The hunger to eat has vanished;
Even the sweetest meal tastes empty,
Even the sun spills light in vain.
A shadow drifts across the eyes,
Vision narrows,
Darkness grows,
And the loudest sound dies in the ears.
Moist eyes reflect a muted world,
An eerie echo stirs in the clouded mind.
Darkness all around tightens its grip,
No path to freedom appears.
Wrapped in a heavy, silent cloak,
Too weary to move,
Too alone to seek warmth,
No hand to hold,
No heart to lean upon.
Even light trembles beyond the veil,
Even joy is a whisper in the void.
And yet, in the quiet ache,
The self waits—
Patient, silent, unseen—
For dawn to touch the shadowed eyes.
