JC: Backtracking a little bit, since last July, we had a full album release
‘Fourteen Shades of X’ and our new seven-song EP. That's in a one-
year period. The reason we released the EP is that there are two songs
on it that are in a new horror movie, and they surprised us because
they launched the movie a little bit early, in May. The movie, ‘Run!’ is
distributed worldwide on all the major streaming platforms. Because
the movie was kind of rushed out in May, we decided to release the EP
to coincide with the movie coming out. So that's why we have two
musical works out in the same year, which is a little bit unusual. We
really don't like to do that as it's a little bit aggressive on the market
having so much music out there in a one-year period.

TB: How did you get involved with that movie?

JC: I have a friend of mine who lives in Los Angeles. She's an old friend
of mine way back from high school. She was actually the production
assistant on the movie, and she let the producer of the movie, Bill
Brennenstuhl, hear our material, and Bill really liked the intro of one of
our songs, ‘All Been Said and Done.’ He said that the song was great,
but we need a song that's like the intro, but longer. I sent a bunch of
other material, but we really didn't have anything that fit the style that
he wanted. So, I said, ‘Why don't we just write a song for the movie
instead of you finding a song that fits?’ So, he sent me an outline of the
script for the part that they needed the music for – our songs coincide
with the appearance of the psycho in the movie. Whenever the psycho
in the movie is on screen, our songs are playing. He sent me a bit of a
background and a profile of the psycho and some of the dialogue. I
took it to Joey and said, ‘Hey, we have an opportunity to write a song
for a movie. Can we do this?’ So, we got together -- Joey and I wrote
and recorded it, all in one night, and we sent it to the producer. They
loved it! They thought it was great and that it fit the movie perfectly. A
couple of months later, they came back to us and said, ‘You know, we
need another song.’ But this time, they needed an instrumental song.
Same kind of thing…aggressive, techno-type music. So, again, Joey
and I recorded it, sent it, they loved it as well. So, since they featured
two of our songs in the movie, we decided to put it on the EP, and
release it to coincide with the movie. Writing music for movies and TV
shows was something we wanted to try, so it was a fantastic
opportunity for us to get into that genre, for sure.

TB: You’re a band that goes a different route than most other
bands, in that you release albums and EPs as opposed to just
releasing single after single. What is the philosophy of the band
                                      in that aspect?
