Arizona bred Roots Reggae DUB artists with a classic rock influenced style and an
energetic stage presence who are here to spread a message of love, unity, life, and
political corruption…that is ZeeCeeKeely, an American reggae band from Tucson,
Arizona. Their sound is simply Desert Roots Rock Reggae that it keeps everyone
dancing to the rhythm of their vibrations.

ZeeCeeKeely’s unequivocally unique sound and flavor are rounded off by a stout and
robust rhythm section. All the music and lyrics have been written by Zach, who also is
the singer and lead guitar player of the band. He has shared the stage with a plethora
of like-minded musicians during his tenure as a performing artist; be it a supporting act
for nationally recognized bands such as Damien Marley, Steel Pulse, Skanks Roots
Project, Hirie, Common Kings, Eli Mac, Landon McNamara, Authority Zero, Sensi
Trails, E.N. Young, Inna Vision, Cypress Hill, The Expendables, Synrgy, and many
more, or performing in a nationally known music festival such as Arizona Roots.

All the musicians in the band share the same message, passion, and vision. Such like-
mindedness amongst the band members have brought these men to all set forth with
one of the most amazing and ambitious drives to share love, unity, and reggae music
that the Tucson music scene has ever experienced.

Marty Haviik: Hey, ZeeCeeKeely band! Let's start by sharing
with our readers who you are and what you're all about.

Zach Keely (songwriting/lead guitar/lead vocals): We are
ZeeCeeKeely, a reggae rock band out of Tucson, Arizona! Our
goal in life is to share a message of unity and social awareness
with a good energy and powerful vibe! Made up of a collection of
Tucson musicians who span from many musical backgrounds
and journeys…a true bond of musical creativity and common
                                goal!

MH: What's the story behind the band name? And tell us
about your background and how did you guys got started in
                                reggae music?

Zach: ZeeCeeKeely is a name created out of a name, Zachary
Correy Keely, founding member of the group. We basically took
his initials Z. C. Keely and made it into one name. We all have
had very different musical influences, but reggae is the music
that has drawn us all in. It’s a lifestyle; a way to express and
speak up! We love the community, and the rhythm of the music
is just undeniably fascinating to us! Everything from Pink Floyd
to sublime and Bob Marley to Rebelution; old school, new school,
                                and everything in between.

MH: Roots Reggae DUB…that's how you describe your style
of music? Elaborate a little more on what that means.

Mikey Shades (percussion/vocals): We pay homage to the
legends of Jamaican reggae music who opened the doors to this
culture, this family mentality, that is seeing a massive resurgence
of popularity here in America at a time when it needs a positive
change in its collective mindset the most. The dub we do to lay
down that heavy vibe and takes you on little adventures to the
beat of dance rhythms, albeit risqué in these times.
