The venue lived up to its reputation
-- absolutely beautiful inside and
out. Not a bad seat in the house.
Fans were everywhere. The
overwhelming color code of dress
was definitely black and preferably
concert shirts. I had chosen right
again. No one wanted to high-five
though. Maybe I'm getting old and
need to learn some new greetings?
One of the largest mosh pits I had
ever seen began to form on the
main floor as I moved into the photo
pit for the night. The timing was
perfect, as the lights fell, and Dope
hit the stage. Vocalist Edsel Dope
(rumored to be the new vocalist,
Xero, for Static-X), bassist Acey
Slade, drummer Daniel Fox, and
guitarist Tommy Tankx Shaffner
(filling in for guitarist Virus), kicked
the night off loud and nasty, blasting
“Blood Money,” “Bitch,” “Die MF
Die,” and ending the 6-song set with
a cover of “You Spin Me Round.”
Just straight-forward Rock. The
crowd was frenzied and sweating.
