But wait, we weren’t done yet. We were all exhausted, but the best was yet to come.
Once more, the lights fell. Eerie music began to play. Lightning streaks blinded us
from the huge display screens. Thunder rumbled. A huge 7-foot Pumpkin-headed
creature stalked the stage. Smoke-filled bubbles gathered in the arena. Anticipation
was at 1000%. Then, high above the stage, red glowing eyes were visible. Static-X
burst into the song “Hollow.” As the lights strobed, we were able to see the
incarnation of original frontman, Wayne Static, who tragically died in 2014, perched
upon rafters belting out the lyrics.
The incarnation is known as Xero and rumored to be Dope frontman Edsel Dope. He
resembles a metal version of Robocop. The band partnered with master prop maker
Eddie Yang to create the frontman known as Xero. He has worked with props for
Avatar, Robocop, Iron Man, and many more. As the band reformed in 2018, they
wanted to pay homage to Wayne instead of replacing him. Xero resembles Wayne
with the tall hair now replaced with long audio type cables and a robotic face including
laser red eyes.
