Following that stop was Destin, Florida,
Birmingham, Alabama, and Anderson,
South Carolina. The band then had a
couple days off as Cold was slated to play
the Blue Ridge Rock Fest before setting
out on the northern run of the tour. Blue
Ridge Rock Fest was sadly canceled
before Cold could play on Sunday. The
tour then made its run through the north,
ending in Plains, Pennsylvania. This was
State of Illusion’s first full tour, and each
member loved every second of it, getting
just a taste of the road.
State of Illusion has three full-length
albums out, with their most recent being
“Pluto’s Ghost,” in which Porter wrote,
recorded, and produced by himself.
“Pluto’s Ghost” is an important album to
Porter as he suffered from a crushing
writer’s block for over a year, couldn’t find
band members, and was feeling as if he
should drop the dream. The album
stands to show that perseverance and
never giving up will produce a beautiful
piece of art. “Pluto’s Ghost” uses
otherworldly audio from NASA to create
an atmosphere and soundscape behind
the music itself. State of Illusion’s first
album “Aphelion” included their first hit,
titled “Blind,” which amassed over 35,000
streams on Spotify and 20,000 views on
YouTube.
Since the tour has wrapped, the band
has only had several shows booked, but
they have a lot planned for 2024. So,
keep your eyes out for future dates and
new material! You can stream all of State
of Illusion’s music on Spotify, Apple
Music, Pandora, and wherever you get
music. Linked below will be their website
