Their music is described as alternative
metal, post-metal, and progressive rock.
Band members credit their influences as
King Crimson, Melvins, and Peter Gabriel.
Tool’s music often explores introspective
and philosophical themes, complimented by
their elaborate visual artistry in album covers
and live performances. The stellar light show
and visuals behind the band accompanying
their setlist for the night at the TD Garden in
Boston, MA which included: “The Pot,”
“Rosetta Stoned,” “Fear Inoculum,” and
“Chocolate Chip Trip,” tied in perfectly with
the music.
The crowd was a mix of generations.
Parents with their adult children and some
kids as young as middle school age all
bonded by the music. It seems Keenan and
bandmates chose the perfect name
matched with lyrics open to interpretation
across generations. Their music can be
used as a tool by listeners to help them get
through good times, hard times, and
everything in between.
