Lesson aims: -to motivate the students by getting them interested in the topic
-to encourage the students to give examples of words from Business English
used in the business domain
-to teach some commonly-used loan words
- to give the students the opportunity to speak about the importance of Business
English nowadays

Materials: handouts, blackboard,textbook

Activity 1

Aim:-to motivate the students by getting them interested in the topic
Procedure: -the teacher asks the students if they know what Business English refer to and then
they receive some handouts related to the topic and they comment on it.

Activity 2

Aim:-to encourage the students to give examples of words from Business English used in the
business domain
Procedure: -the teacher asks the students to make a list on the board with common English
words which are in our language and advises them to think about business domains in order to give
such examples.

Activity 3

Aim:- to teach some commonly-used loan words
Procedure: -the students read a list of loan words and try to translate them. After reading the
new words they should try to categorise the words. The teacher translates the unknown words and
gives synonyms in English.

Activity 4

Aim:-to give the students the opportunity to speak about the importance of English nowadays
Procedure:-the reading text refers to the importance of Business English nowadays. The teacher
lets the students try to work out the meanings of the new words in the context and then gives
synonyms.The students tell their opinions about the importance of English in the present society.
Then the teacher gives the homework to the students
" Write an essay about the importance of Business English in the present society".
