A loop.
If you hang a rope over a bar, you have taken a
turn—think of it as a bight with a bar in the middle.
If you wrap the rope all the way around the bar, you
have made a round turn. In general, you will take a
turn around an object, such as a tree or a tent stake,
when you want to adjust the line. And you will make
a round turn around a tree or boulder when you want
to solidly anchor the rope.
A turn.
A round turn.
