        Whiteheads (closed comedones): Plugged follicles that remain under the skin, forming
        a white bump
        Blackheads (open comedones): Plugged follicles open to the surface, appearing black
        due to oxidation of sebum and dead skin cells
        Inflammatory Lesions
        Papules: Small, inflamed, pink, tender bumps on the skin
        Pustules: Papules with a white or yellow pus-filled center
        Nodules: Large, hard, painful lesions that are deep within the skin
        Cysts: Deep, painful, pus-filled lesions
        Classifying Acne Severity
        Acne is classified by the number and type of lesions present:
        Mild (Grade 1): Primarily comedones with a few papules or pustules
        Moderate (Grade 2): A higher number of inflammatory lesions, including papules and
        pustules, with some comedones
        Severe (Grade 3 & 4): Characterized by numerous papules, pustules, and deep, painful
        nodules and cysts. Severe forms can lead to significant scarring
        After the disease has ended, scars are common and permanent.
