Dosage Forms Selection
Gels and solutions have a drying effect and may cause contact dermatitis. However,
these dosage forms are not greasy and may be more beneficial in patients with oily
skin
Creams and lotions are generally are recommended for dry or sensitive skin and for use
during dry winter weather
Ointment vehicles are not used, because they are occlusive and tend to worsen acne
To prevent acne, choose cosmetics labelled "non-comedogenic," which means it's designed
not to clog pores
