        When to Refer to Physician ??
        Severe, affecting other parts of the foot (toenails) Signs
        of bacterial infection
        Unresponsive to appropriate treatment (beyond 1 week)
        If condition persists beyond the recommended duration of therapy (beyond 4 weeks)
        Diabetic & immunocompromised patients
        Persons with tinea unguium or tinea capitis should be referred to a dermatologist for
        treatment

       Non-Pharmacological Measures

        Prevent Infection
        Use separate towel to dry the affected area or dry it last Don't
        share towels, clothing or personal articles Launder
        contaminated towels or clothing in hot water
        Wear shower sandals in public swimming pool or showers
        Dry Off Well
        Choose breathable footwear & Dry shoes well
        Dusting shoes with medicated or non-medicated foot powder

       Pharmacological Therapy

        OTC Anti-Fungals
        Azoles
        Clotrimazole 1%
        Miconazole 2%
