Product Selection Guidelines and Precautions
Dry and scaly tinea pedis: Creams or solutions are the most effective dosage form to the
epidermis. They can be rubbed into the skin. Sprays and powders are less effective
Macerated, erosive interdigital tinea pedis: Gels, sprays & powders are more preferred
Care for oozing lesions: Add astringent (Aluminum acetate; Burow's solution) first, before
antifungal
Thick skin layers: Apply keratolytic first
Avoid re-infection: Apply a cream twice daily for 2-4 weeks to affected area & margin
(few cms)
Continue 1-2 weeks after rash has cleared
