If both drop and ointment/gel therapy are indicated, instill the drops at least 10 minutes before the

ointment/gel.

If multiple medications are indicated, wait at least 5 minutes before instilling the next eye drop preparation.

If symptoms do not subside after 72 hours of treatment, the patient should be encouraged to seek further
assessment from an eye care specialist.

Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)

Types of Conjunctivitis

    Non-Infectious Conjunctivitis:
        Allergic conjunctivitis
        Non-allergic conjunctivitis

   Infectious Conjunctivitis:
        Viral conjunctivitis.
        Bacterial conjunctivitis;
        Neonatal conjunctivitis.

  Medical referral cases

       Bacterial conjunctivitis
      Viral conjunctivitis
      Neonatal conjunctivitis
      Contact lens-related conjunctivitis
      Herpetic conjunctivitis
       Any conjunctivitis with vision loss, photophobia, or severe pain

Self-treatable Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)

✓ Non-allergic conjunctivitis.
