Recent studies ( review on Dec.14,2018 ) have demonstrated
bergamottin and dihydroxy bergamottin to bepromising natural
agents as antimutagenic, anticarcinogenic
Cytochrome p450 activate broad variety of environmental
contaminants, leading to highly reactive metabolites
(carcinogens), reacting with macromolecules e.g. protein,
lipids, nucleic acids, generating DNA adducts. (mutagenic
effects).
In vitro and in vivo (animal models) studies, both
furanocoumarins induced apoptosis, cell cycle arrest at
G2/M. (possible therapeutic or adjuvant therapy )
