III- Rotenoids
       Rotenone
   Sources: dried roots of Derris,Lonchocarpus nicou
   (Leguminoseae); fruits and plant of Piscidia piscipula
   Sarg. and roots of Tephros virginiana L.(Fabaceae)

Rotenone is related to isoflavones (Prenylated flavonoid).
 It is unstable to air and light (stored in air– tight dark
 containers )
Uses: Insecticide
Identification Test :
To solution of rotenone in acetone ,add HNO3 (1:1)), stand
for an hour,then add a few drops of dil NaOH solution →
distinct blue colour .
