GLUCO / NEO / GENESIS
          Gluconeogenesis

• Definition: It is the formation of glucose from non-
     carbohydrate sources which include: Lactate, Pyruvate,
     Glycerol, some aminoacids and propionates.

• Occurs in all animals, plants, fungi and microbes.

• Occurs largely in the liver (90%); some in renal cortex
     (10%) in both cytosol and mitochondria.
