Roots containing steroidal and triterpenoidal
                      saponin glycosides
                         Ginseng Root

Botanical origin: the dried tuberous root of Panax ginseng (Korean ginseng) or
of P. quinquefolium (American Ginseng) Family Araliaceae.
The most expensive Ginseng is That obtained from The Korean plant .

Constituents:
   • A number of saponin glycosides known as ginsenosides (Japan ) or
       Panaxosides (Russia ), these are mixtures of steroidal and triterpenoidal
       glycosides, termed ginsenosides Rb1,Rb2, Rc ,……
   • Other constituents: high molecular weight polysaccharides known as
       panaxans A ,B ,C…. with hypoglycemic activity
   • Volatile oil ,resin ,sterols ,vitamins ,amino acids, peptides & trace elements
       e.g., Fe ,Zn ,Cu. ,&Mg.
