Jalap - Ipomeae – Scammony
The family is characterized by showing anomalous thickening ,this is due to the
limited activity of the original cambium so the plant forms tertiary or accessory
cambia followed by a number of tertiary vascular bundles
They are all used as cathartic purgatives.
