Evaluation of TDDs cutaneous toxicity
Skin irritation Study
▪ Healthy rabbits were employed as test subjects for studying skin irritation
possibly caused by patch application to the skin.
▪ The rabbit’s dorsal surface is dehaired and cleaned thoroughly followed
by application of the representative formulations or patches.
▪ A day later, the patches are removed and examined for any evidence of
skin irritation and assigned grades from 1 to 5 based on the severity of skin injury (erythema
or edema)
