Types of Chemical markers

Injectable, intrathecal drugs: 0.2 EU /kg product.
Injectable, non-intrathecal: 5 EU /kg product
Sterile water : 0.25 – 0.5 EU /ml.

USP pyrogen test in rabbits

The classical USP pyrogen test conducted with
rabbits suffers from certain limitations:
 Endotoxin tolerance.
 Low reactivity to legionnaires’ endotoxin.
