• Medicinal plants are liable to be affected by pesticide
  residues which accumulate from:

• agricultural practices of spraying.

• treating soils during cultivation.

• administration of fumigants during storage.

• Since, many plants and many medicinal preparations of
  plant origin are taken over long period of time,

• limits for pesticide residues should be established
  following the recommendations of • the Food and
  Agricultural Organization (FAO)
