Diarrhea is…….
is a Greek word means "flowing through",
• Is a Trivial disorder but can be a symptom for more
serious disease
• It is an increase in the frequency (>3 times/day) and/or
looseness of stools.
• The overall weight and volume of stool is increased
(>200g or ml/day) and the water content is increased
to 60%-90%.
• Diarrhea is due to an imbalance in the physiology of
the small and large intestinal processes involved in the
absorption of ions, organic substrates, and thus water.
