Corticosteroids ……inhalations or tablets?
v Corticosteroid is better to be given in form of inhalation as they
have many side effect
Inhalation Tablets
Low dose Ex (ventolin=0.1mg/dose)
Need high dose(ventolin
=2mg of salbutamol)
Rapid onset of action , avoid first pass Suffering from the first pass

Why Inhalation (ICS) is Preferred?
Inhaled corticosteroids are the most
effective medicine for long-term control of
asthma in most people.
Less Systemic absorption than Tablets, so
less side effects.
The least amount of medicine that controls
the asthma symptoms is used.(small dose)
Local Effect on the lungs.(targeting)
Rapid onset of action.
Good in case of poorly oral absorption drug
Better stability of the product(aerosols)
