Corticosteroids and Oral thrush
• Oral thrush is an infection of yeast fungus, Candida albicans, in the
mucous membranes of the mouth.
• Symptoms of oral thrush:
White, cream-coloured, or yellow spots in the mouth .
• To avoid oral thrush
Patients need to rinse their mouth after using the inhaler

Theophylline
(Methylxanthines. Sustained-release theophylline)
• Initial dose…(scored tablets)
• Antiinflammatory (lower doses)
• Bronchial smooth muscle relaxation in higher
doses
• Increased diaphragm contractility
• Drug Interactions with (erthromycin AB, cimetidine,
penicillin inj, aminophylline, N acetylcysteine,etc)
• Narrow therapeutic index (Monitoring of serum
theophylline concentration is essential.)
