3- Fragments of the membranous calyx showing longitudinally
elongated thin walled cells containing prismatic crystals of
calcium oxalate; the base of the calyx is composed of lignified
sclereids some containing calcium oxalate prism.
4- Fragments of involucral bracts showing epidermis with
anomocytic stomata, striated cuticle, T-shaped hairs and
compositious glandular hairs. The T-shaped hair is formed of
uniserriate 2-3 cells stalk on which is inserted at right angle a
single elongated cell showing striated cuticle.
5- Fragments of hypodermal sclerenchyma.
6- The inner epidermis of the ligulate corolla is papillosed while
that of the outer epidermis consists of wavy cells having
striated cuticle.
