Tubular Florets:
The tubular floret is actinomorphic. The ovary and the calyx are
similar to those of the ligulate floret. The short corolla has five
reflexed triangular lobes.
Androecium:
Stamens: Five, epipetalous and syngenesious. Pollen grains are
spherical with spiny exine.
Pappus and ovary as in ligulate floret.
Compositous glandular trichomes are present o the corollas of both
florets.
Constituents:
1- 0.5%of sesqitepene lactones: helenalin tiglate, dihydrohelanin
tiglate and

   arnicin
2- 0.50-1.0 % Volatile oil; main component: thymol & thymol
derivatives
3- Tannins.
Uses:
Arnica flower is used in the form of infusion or tincture as a topical
healing.
1- As a domestic remedy for treatment of bruises & sprains
(reabsorption of effused blood)
2- As topical healing of wounds and sore feet.
3- The tincture is used as astringent.
4- As a hair tonic.
