Refractive Index Detector (RID)

❑ It is a Universal detector; it responds to all solutes, including
those that have little ultraviolet absorption such as sugars.

❑ RID is less sensitive than other HPLC detectors (LOD is about
10-7 g/ml), thus not useful for trace analysis.
