Ultraviolet-Visible Detector (UVD)

❑ It is based on the ability of many
solutes to absorb electromagnetic
radiation in the UV/VIS range.

❑ UVD is good for gradient elution with
non-absorbing solvents.

❑ UVD has good sensitivity (LOD 10-10
g/ml) but is limited to compounds that
absorb light in the UV/VIS.
