Fluorescence Detector
❑ It is based on the ability of certain analytes to emit energy
(fluorescence) of higher wavelength following excitation by
incident UV light. Its use is restricted to compounds that fluoresce
naturally (polyenes and aromatics (have fluorophore group).
❑ It is more sensitive and selective than UVD; LOD is 10-11 g/ml.
