Detectors in HPLC
Electrochemical Detector (ED)
❑ ED responds to analytes that can be oxidized or reduced, such
as phenols, aromatic amines, peroxides, ketones, aldehydes,
aromatic halogen compounds, and aromatic nitro compounds.
❑ Ed requires a mobile phase that will conduct electricity.
❑ It is the most sensitive detector; LOD 10-12 g/ml.
