5. Affinity Chromatography.
✓ Stationary phase: Derivative of cellulose, dextrans, agarose,
coupled to ligands such as antibodies.
✓ Mobile phase: liquid.
✓ It is a method of separating biochemical mixtures based on a
highly specific interaction such as that between antigen and
antibody, enzyme and substrate, or receptor and ligand.
Generally used for 66
purification of proteins,
enzymes, antibodies, and
nucleic acids.
