Ø Orally non-absorbable drugs could be given to
the systemic circulation by nasal administration.
Ø Studies performed so far show that the nasal
delivery route is an alternative to the parenteral
route, especially for protein and peptide drugs,
due to its low enzymatic activity.
Ø Compared to parenteral drugs, especially in long-
term treatment, it increases the compliance of
patients.
