• Inhalants are drugs or combinations of drugs that by
virtue of their high vapor pressure can be carried by an
air current into the nasal passage, where they exert
their effect. The device that holds the drug or drugs and
from which they are administered is an inhaler.
• E.g nasal decongestants: the inhaler is placed in the
nostril and vapor inhaled to relieve nasal congestion.
Can it cause rebound congestion as well??
• Another example: antianginal drug (amyl nitrite)
