date.

product in the final user container.
The sterile dry powder could be produced by freeze drying (lyophilization) or other techniques.
How to achieve controlled drug delivery in
parenteral preparations?!!
1. Increasing the particle size (suspension) and viscosity (oil solutions or viscosity imparting
agents)
This will decrease drug dissolution rate in tissue fluids thus decreasing rate of absorption
and sustained release.
2. Use of implants
These are solid sterile dosage forms.
3. Use of less soluble salts: insulin –Zn
4. Use of crystalline rather than amorphous form of drug.
