On January 20, 1706 Guru Gobind Singh Ji arrived in Talvandi Sabo.
Now it is known as Damdama Sahib. He stayed there for about nine

months. There along with Bhai Mani Singh, he worked on Adi Granth.

He added Bani of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in it.
This is where the Damdami Taksaal is.

Guru Ji traveled towards south and reached Nanded in 1708. This is

where he met Madho Das Bairagi, who later became Banda Singh
               Bahadur.

Wazir Khan of Sirhind heard about Guru Ji becoming strong again.

He did not like the sound of that. He commissioned two Pathans to
attack and kill Guru Ji. Both Pathans followed Guru Ji to his room in

Nanded. One of them struck Guru Ji with a dagger just under his

heart. Guru Ji killed him with his Kirpan. The other one was running
away but the Sikhs killed him too.

Aurangzeb’s son Bahadur Shah was the new emperor. He too liked

Guru Ji. He sent his own surgeons to treat Guru Ji’s wounds. Guru Ji
was healing well and he thought he was ready to work again. One day

he stretched his bow too hard and the stitches pulled open again. He

bled too much and could not recover.

Before he passed away, he asked Bhai Daya Singh to bring in Sri

Granth. On October 6, 1708, the Guru bowed his head to the Sri

Granth and told his Sikhs to accept Sri Granth as the Eternal Guru.

His last words were: Awqmw gRMQ ivc qy srIr pMQ ivc[

Guru Gobind Singh Ji Merged with Waheguru on October 7, 1708.

He was only 42 years old.
