Chapter 7: The Mool Mantar
< ਸਹਿਨਾਮੁ ਰਰਿਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹਨਰਭਉ ਹਨਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਰਾਲ ਮੂਰਹਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭ ਗੁਰਪਿਸਾਹਦ ॥

The Mool Mantar as it appears in the beginning of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
This is often translated as follows
<> One Infinite Creator
ਸਹਿਨਾਮੁ: The Ultimate Truth
ਰਰਿਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ: The Creator of All
ਹਨਰਭਉ: Without Fear
ਹਨਰਵੈਰੁ: Without Enmity
ਅਰਾਲ-ਮੂਰਹਿ: Timeless
ਅਜੂਨੀ: Beyond Birth and Death
ਸੈਭ: Self-Enlightened

ਗੁਰਪਿਸਾਹਦ: Obtained By Grace of Guru
How can we inculcate these qualities? What are their implications for our life?
<> We need to get rid of our ego. How can we do it?
• Naam Simran: Remember Waheguru , Feel the Divine presence
• Ardas: Pray, Thank Waheguru for the gifts
• Keertan: Sing Waheguru’s praises
• Everything happens in Waheguru’s will: You are an expression of
Waheguru’s will. Love yourself the way you are. Take care of your
physical and mental health.
siqnwmu: Be real, avoid falsehood.
• Be Sincere
• Be Dependable: Do what you promise. Do your best. Do not hide your
shortcomings. Work on them. Improve yourself.
ਰਰਿਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ: Waheguru is the doer, he creates, maintains and destroys
• Respect Waheguru’s will
• Treat everyone else as equal, as they are created by the same
Waheguru. See Waheguru’s light in everyone.
• Don’t be lazy: Do your job (study hard, help at home). Be creative.
Improve things around you to make world beautiful. Always do good
