PROJECT
“DAKSH”
Introduction
In terms of para V and V.1 of terms of settlement under memorandum of settlement
dated 19.05.2008, 45 casual laborers covered under the settlement will be imparted training,
either in-house or with the external agencies, as required, for a period 1 to 2 Years ( 500
hours ), as per the requirement of trades, and only on successful completion of training they
will be considered for employment against the future vacancies.
Daksh is a hindi word which qualifies for the skill level of an individual. The Project Daksh
was coined by Department of Training and Development (TTC) to fulfill the target of
converting the mere literates to semi skilled human resource.
Aim
The Training Department aim is to impart training as per the guidelines given by the state
board of technical education and training, and the designated committee of division.
Proposal
Shri DVS Raju and Mr S Dutta, have identified the State Board of Technical Board as
certifying external agency to qualify 45 labourers. The Training department has raised a
proposal of 500 Hour of training in 8 disciplines at a cost of Rs 4,07,253/-.
Execution
The Training was supposed to be imparted by staff of State Board of Technical Education
(SBTET) under the supervision of their staff, however, they could not depute their staff .
The Training Department had great difficulty convincing the SLRDC workshop, IMM,
Maintenance, & Lean in organizing the training. The TTC had utilized in house faculty, and
conducted the classes from 15:30 Hrs to 17:30 Hrs throughout Training period. Practical’s
were conducted in workshops of SLRDC, IMM, Factory technical services department &
TTC to the satisfaction of SBTET. Mr.K.Shankar Babu, Senior Assistant Supervisor
(Training), TTC had contributed immensely in the conduct of training
