The Company segment represents the legal entity or other company (such as elimination or
adjustment entity) that summarizes the activities of the entity.

Competitive Talent Landscape (CTL)

Recruitment space where there are few qualified candidates to fulfill a particular role.

Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR)

A business- and investing-specific term for the geometric progression ratio that provides a
constant rate of return over the time period.

Confidentiality Disclosure Agreement (CDA)

Agreement between BIIB and the entity to keep information confidential. The agreement
may be one way out (BIIB discloses information to a site) or 2 way out (agreement protects
the flow of confidential information from BIIB to site & site to BIIB).

Consensus Earnings Estimate

The average of per-share earnings predictions from numerous analysts.

Consolidated Currency

Swiss HQ holds everyone’s revenue, but they are USD functional. They have different
planning currencies for the different regions.

Contract Manager (CM)

Ad hoc member of Study Management Team from within Clinical Business Operations.

Contract/Clinical Research Organization (CRO)

Organization hired by BIIB to perform a study purpose, typically the management of clinical
trials.

Co-promotion Profits

The amount earned from a venture in which two entities promote a product together.

Core Data Sheet (CDS)

An internal central reference document for the development of labeling worldwide, which
provides accurate and complete information for each Biogen Product.
